Inequalities Quiz 1

The purpose of this assessment is to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and ability with basic fundamental principles and procedures of using Algebra to solve equations.  More important than appropriate inverse operations is the ability to read and think through a problems.  Problems 6b, 6c and 6d are designed to reward a student that can read and think.

The quiz is two pages in length, with six total problems.  Students will need to be able to read and translate between English and Mathematics, as well as identify errors in process, and check solutions for correctness.  Students will also have to use two-step inverse operations to solve equations, but also read and interpret mathematical meaning to arrive at solutions based on known mathematical facts.

The quiz includes a grading document which helps you grade quickly and decide how to fairly and consistently assign partial credit and provide feedback to students.
